Friluftsliv: a Joy Seed Practice

Friluftsliv

A Joy Seed Practice

I learned a new term this week: friluftsliv (pronounced free-loofts-liv). It’s a Nordic term that literally translates as “open-air living” and is definitely trending and I can see why. Connecting with nature is one of my go-to Joy Seed practices to help me pause, take a breath, and reclaim space to have intention with myself and others.

For me, friluftsliv manifests in many ways.  It’s in walking meetings with my work team, kayaking with my family, journaling on my porch, or simply picking up changing leaves around our neighborhood. Friluftsliv helps me remember that this is enough, that I am enough.

When was the last time you felt like you were enough?  Join me on Wednesday, October 13th from 7-8:15 pm EST for Joy Work Lab on ENOUGHClick here to get your ticket. How do we find the joy in enough? How can joy help us set boundaries and seek sustainability in our lives? We’ll explore this theme together through Joy Seed exercises.

I hope you take time to practice friluftsliv this week!  Journey on, Joy Buddies!
