Library Joy: a Joy Seed Practice

Library Joy

A Joy Seed Practice

I love libraries.  I love the way people’s eyes light up when I say I’m a librarian.  I love the tenderness in people’s voices when they share how libraries have touch their lives and supported them during times of transition and growth.  I love the passion and curiosity that comes up when people share about the books they borrowed as kids and the memories of librarians who helped along the way.  I love the physical sensory experiences of libraries.  I love their colorful spaces and experiences like using a parachute during storytime.  I love their noises – the laughter and squeals of little ones.  I love the quiet of study and the rustle of newspapers. I love the sound of keyboards clicking.  I love the buzz of small groups crowding together at tables.  I love the banter of folks free to roam and try out new things.

I also love to braid library joy with Joy Work.  I love the ways libraries support Joy Work journeys – my own, my clients, my colleagues, and my community.  Are you looking for free resources to support your joy?  Let’s chat!  I’m delighted to wear both hats – Joy Work and library and see where we can make magic.  There is scheduler on this webpage under “Schedule Now,” or you are welcome to email me at rhass@joyworkllc.com.

Let’s build more joy with libraries!
